For most of its history, the Tellier family grew grapes in Moussy, near Épernay, and sold them on to the large Champagne houses that built their reputations on other people's vineyards. That changed in 2016, when brothers Quentin and Alexandre Tellier took three hectares of family vines and began vinifying their own micro-cuvées, part of a broader movement of young growers across Champagne reclaiming the fruit of their own land.
From Grape Growers to Grower Champagne
Quentin Tellier joined his father Christophe with a clear ambition: to shift the family business from anonymous fruit supplier to a genuine grower-producer, a style the French call Vigneron Paysan, roughly 'peasant winegrower', a term used with pride rather than modesty. His brother Alexandre followed in 2020. Today the domaine farms around 9 hectares across Moussy and Pierry, with additional parcels in Chavot, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ, and Cramant, farmed organically with biodynamic leanings, though not yet certified.

'La Goutte d'Or' Pinot Noir Extra Brut 2018 is built around Pinot Noir, showing the darker, more structured style the grape brings to Champagne, with the low dosage of Extra Brut keeping the fruit precise and the finish dry.
