Château Lagrange

Saint-Julien

The Domain

Château Lagrange is a historic estate of Saint-Julien, classified as a Troisième Grand Cru Classé (1855), and one of the appellation’s most consistent and respected references. With origins dating back to the Middle Ages, the château today combines classical Médoc heritage with a highly disciplined, modern approach to viticulture and winemaking.

The vineyard spans prime gravel terraces overlooking the Gironde estuary, an ideal terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon, which forms the backbone of the blend, complemented by Merlot and Petit Verdot. These soils provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s structure, aromatic precision, and ageing potential.

The Style

Viticulture is conducted with meticulous parcel-by-parcel management, focusing on sustainable practices, balanced yields, and optimal ripeness. In the cellar, vinification is precise and measured, favouring elegance and purity over extraction. Ageing in French oak is carefully calibrated to enhance complexity while preserving freshness and harmony.

Château Lagrange produces classic Saint-Julien wines known for their balance, fine-grained tannins, and refined structure — combining the power of the Left Bank with poise and accessibility. Equally appreciated by collectors and sommeliers, Lagrange offers reliable quality and graceful ageing across vintages.
