Château du Tertre

Margaux

The Domain

Château du Tertre is a historic estate located in Margaux, classified as a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé (1855). Perched on one of the highest points of the appellation, the château benefits from an exceptional terroir that has been cultivated since the 12th century, contributing to its long-standing reputation for finesse and elegance.

The vineyard is planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, on deep gravelly soils typical of Margaux. This terroir provides excellent drainage and promotes aromatic complexity, refined tannins, and balance.

The Style

Viticulture is conducted with a strong focus on sustainability and precision, including parcel-by-parcel management and controlled yields. In the cellar, winemaking is classical and measured, favouring gentle extraction and carefully managed ageing in French oak to enhance structure while preserving freshness and purity of fruit.

Château du Tertre produces elegant, aromatic Margaux wines known for their silky tannins, floral notes, and refined structure. These wines offer immediate charm while retaining the ability to age gracefully, making Château du Tertre a benchmark for classic, balanced Margaux.
