Château Figeac

Saint-Emilion

The Domain

Château Figeac is one of the most historic and distinctive estates of Saint-Émilion, elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” status. Located on the western edge of the appellation, bordering Pomerol, Figeac stands apart for its unique terroir and unmistakable style within Right Bank Bordeaux.

The vineyard is planted on a rare combination of deep gravel soils over clay, a geological profile more commonly associated with the Médoc. This terroir underpins Figeac’s atypical varietal composition for Saint-Émilion, with a dominant presence of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot. This Cabernet-led blend defines the château’s signature: aromatic precision, freshness, and a refined, linear structure.

The Style

Viticulture is conducted with meticulous, parcel-by-parcel management, focusing on balance, low yields, and sustainable practices. In the cellar, vinification is precise and measured, with gentle extraction and carefully calibrated ageing in French oak to enhance complexity while preserving purity and terroir expression.

Château Figeac produces wines of remarkable elegance, depth, and longevity — combining the finesse of the Right Bank with the structure and ageing capacity often associated with Left Bank grands crus. Revered by collectors and sommeliers worldwide, Figeac is a benchmark of Saint-Émilion at its most intellectual and age-worthy.
