Tasting notes

The 2020 Château de Meursault Pommard “Clos de la Platière” is a structured and expressive Pinot Noir that captures the powerful yet refined character of Pommard.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with purple reflections. The nose is intense and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, complemented by subtle notes of spice, earth, and forest floor.

On the palate, the wine is rich, structured, and well-built, supported by ripe, firm tannins that provide both depth and aging potential. The fruit concentration is balanced by fresh acidity and a savory undertone, leading to a long, persistent finish that reflects the classic power and elegance of the appellation.

More About The Winery

With 60 hectares of vines – including 23 hectares in Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations – Château de Meursault is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious estates. Its history dates back to the 11th century, and over the centuries it has passed through the hands of prominent Burgundy families, each leaving their mark.

In the 19th century, the Serre family expanded the estate and transformed the Château’s architecture, while later owners continued to develop its vineyards. In 1973, André Boisseaux, founder of the Kriter Group, restored the property with vision and passion. Since 2012, the estate has been under the stewardship of Olivier Halley, a dedicated wine lover deeply committed to Burgundy’s heritage.

Today, Château de Meursault produces wines that reflect the richness of its extraordinary terroirs, embodying finesse, depth, and the timeless grandeur of Burgundy.
